Donating resources to the GNU PDF Project
Individuals, companies and public institution would highly benefit having access to a free, complete and high-quality implementation of the PDF format, and the several ISO standards using the PDF format as the foundation (please see the goals and motivations of the project).
To achieve the above goals requires a big amount of work. As with any other GNU package, GNU PDF developers are volunteers from around the world. We can develop the whole issue, but we would do it quite faster with more resources.
If you are interested in having such a free PDF implementation, please consider donating resources to the project. There are several ways to realise your support:
- Funds may allow us to pay developers and to get some of the actual developers entirely dedicated to the project.
- Lending staff to the project.
In addition to accelerate the development, a donator will be able to getting highly involved in the development. That may cause the resulting software to fit very well with donators goals and interests (but see the following section).
Which license are you using for the GNU PDF programs?
We are using the GNU General Public License version 3, or any later version published by the Free Software Foundation.
Would you consider to use another free software license in the exchange of a donation?
No. We are absolutely determined to use the licensing which will best support the freedom of the users of this program.
Would i get some authority in the project if i make a donation?
The ultimate authority in the GNU PDF project is the GNU maintainer.
Donors cannot have authority in the strict sense, but they will have influence in technical decisions, to the extent that this doesn't prejudice the primary goals for the project.
How to make a donation?
